2008 CAL SOUTH STATE CUP NEWS

Final 4: A round of cheers to the Hawks Black GU-11 who defeated Cypress Elite 1-0 to elevate past the State Cup Round of 8 and into the final 4. The road stopped at the door of West Coast FC in a tight 1-0 contest. The ladies had advanced through the tournament by defeating FC Force 2-1 in the Round of 32, and a strong 3-0 victory in the round of 16 against FC San Diego. Outstanding effort Hawks and we are proud of you! (GU-11 started with 108 teams!)

Congratulations to the GU-9 Hawks Black for advancing to the State Cup Semi-finals! The girls advanced with a 5-0 win over NHB Black in the Round of 16, and a 4-2 overtime win in the Round of 8 (Quarter-Finals) over the So Cal Blues. A 1-0 loss in the final group of four to West Coast FC concluded a fantastic season. Great soccer girls! (GU-9 started with 63 teams!)

Round of 8: Congratulations to the BU-12 Hawks Black for their successful State Cup journey. The boys came out strong defeating NHB Black 3-1 in the Round of 16 before ending their run to Cypress FC in the Quarter-Finals. Excellent job boys! (BU-12 started with 88 teams!)

Round of 32: Congratulations to the GU-10 and BU-10, both of which advanced out of bracket and into the round of 32 in State Cup play!
