What is meant by “black”,
“red”, "silver", and "white" team?
When there are enough players
to form more than one team in an age group, the black team is the first team and
the red team is the second. Both the black and red teams are coached by
Professional Coaches that are contracted by TVSA Hawks. In some age groups
there may be teams that are coached by Volunteer Parent Coaches. These teams
are referred to as the silver (1st) team and the white (2nd) team.
What is the
difference between “youngers” and “olders”?
Youngers are boys
and girls teams U8 through U14; Olders are boys and girls teams U15 through U19
(players in high school).
What
is the cut-off date for the age groups?
The cut-off date is
August 1st. For example, if your child turns 10 before August 1st, then he/she
would be on the Under 11 team.
Please note: The age designations are "Under 11" not "11 and under"
as may be the case in other sports.
When are Try-outs?
Youngers try out in February; Olders try out in May.
Can my child
still make a team if they missed Try-outs?
Yes, the team coach
will advise you if there is room on a team roster.
Who do I
contact to try out?
Please contact Nik Laytart, Girls Program
Director at (951) 676-2902/GirlsDOC@tvsahawks.com,
or David Halliday, Boys Program Director at (951) 677-2708/BoysDOC@tvsahawks.com.
They will forward your information to the appropriate coach who will contact you
to arrange for your child to come to a team practice.
How do I register my
child?
A registration form is supplied by the team manager and
is completed by the parent when the coach has invited the child onto the team.
An initial membership payment may be due at this time.

When does the season
begin?
The season for the Youngers runs from April 1st to the
end of January. However, if a team goes onto State Cup (February/March), then
the team will fund the costs associated with the extension of the season (i.e.,
coach's training fees and travel expenses, if necessary, and all tournament
fees).
The
season for the Olders runs from mid-May to mid-November, they break for
high-school soccer and resume in February/March to play State Cup. All older
black teams go onto State Cup and the coach’s training fees are included in the
season membership fee. If any older red team goes onto State Cup, then the red
team will fund the costs associated with the extension of the season.
What are the
membership fees?
We do not publish our membership fees on our
website. You may obtain this information from the coach or team manager.
However, the membership fees are different for some age groups, and the black
and red teams. Membership payments are made over several months. PLEASE NOTE:
The membership fee does not include any tournament fees or bonds, soccer gear or
travel expenses for player or coach, etc.
Where can I find out
about the coach and team?
Please visit our
Coaching Staff page to
view a coach’s bio by clicking on his/her photo. You may also visit the
Teams page for contact
information and to see the current achievements of an individual team. The
Standings page also
lists current league standings and tournament wins for the teams.
How do I put a notice about a team event/fundraiser on the Club web site?
Team Coaches or Managers may use the
Team Events
& Notices Form to post their Hawks team activity.
How can I become a volunteer
for the Club?
The
Temecula Murrieta Soccer Club Board of Directors and Auxiliary Board is always
looking for parents with passion to contribute their time and expertise to help
make each season a winning season. We also have several exciting special events
and activities throughout the year and need volunteers to help make these events
successful. You would be making a great contribution to the soccer community.
If interested, please email
Director of League Management,
Kelley Collins or call 909-677-8944.
