BU13 Black Crusaders Cup Finalists

THEY ARE ON A ROLL! Congratulations to the BU-13 Black team for becoming finalists in the Crusader’s Cup held this past weekend, July 19 - 21.

With no losses on their score card in bracket play, and a resounding 3-2 win in the semi-final against the Chula Vista Rangers, the boys unfortunately fell short in the final game to the host team. With this being their third championship appearance in very recent tournament play, this young team is showing massive potential! Excellent job boys!

GU17 Red Takes 2nd Place in the Crusaders Cup

The GU17 Red Hawks took 2nd place in the Crusaders Cup on July 21st. The Hawks’ first defeat of the tournament came in their 2-1 loss in the Finals, against the La Mesa Matrix team.

In their opening game on Saturday, the Hawks finished in a 2-2 tie against the Folsom Blast. Ahkira Hunter and Ericka Morales each scored a goal. Ariana Strickland scored the only goal in the Hawks 2nd game, giving them a 1-0 victory over the La Mesa Matrix. The Hawks advanced through the Semi-Finals on goals from Alexa Pyles, Ariana Strickland, Allison Gamble and Erin Breerer on penalty kicks after regulation time had run out. Both goal keepers Alice Brown and Katy Boano did a great job of keeping the Matrix scoreless during regulation play and Katie did an amazing job of only allowing two goals during the PK round. The Hawks only goal in the Finals came on an incredible shot, from a fee kick by Erin Breerer. The girls did a great job in the tournament and we are looking forward to an exciting season.

GU9 Black Win at Irvine Summer Classic

The GU9 Black Hawks had a tremendous weekend at the Irvine Summer Classic.

The girls were determined to bring home a win for their team after finding out that Kate (their goalie) had her appendix removed early Sunday morning.

The girls went undefeated into the finals. Winning the first two games 5-2 and their third game 7-1. The girls found themselves in a similar situation from a year ago playing CSC Crusaders in the finals. All the girls battled back and forth tying the game at 2-2. The Hawks pulled it through in the end with some amazing saves by Zoe during the Penalty Kick shootout. Great job girls! We look forward to seeing more of you.

BU12 Black Arsenal Summer Classic Champions

BU13B 2008 Arsenal Summer Classic Champions

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to the Hawks BU-12 Black team for procuring the title of tournament champions at the Arsenal 2008 Summer Classic. Led by Coaches David Halliday and Jose Garcia, the boys started the weekend with a definitive 5-0 win against PQ Premier, only to lose a heartbreakingly close game later in the day to Diamond Bar. However, returning with renewed vigor and their “never say die attitude” on Sunday morning, a 1-0 loss handed to Bayern Munich in the semis secured a spot for our boys in the finals. After a tense and exciting fifty minutes of play, the Hawks came out on top with a 1-0 victory against FC San Diego. Great job boys!

GU10 Black Poway Shootout Champions

Oops, we did it again!  The Hawks GU-10 Black took home the Championship in their bracket at the Poway Shootout Soccer tournament held May 30-31, 2008. Despite being short players due weather complications requiring a change in play week, the girls came out in full force proving once again what hard work and teamwork can do. With Coach Jacques Ladouceur guiding the way the girls went on to lead an impressive undefeated victory having only 1 goal scored against them the entire tournament. In the finals game the girls met back up with Scripps United White whom they defeated in a previous game 5-0, but this time Scripps put the pressure on. But, in spite of Scripps best efforts the Hawks answered and walked away with a victory. Great job girls; keep up the good work!

The girls advanced from bracket play to face Tidal Wave in the semi-finals and won 3-1. They played hard and with a lot of determination to beat Carlsbad Lightning in the finals 2-0. This is the girls' first tournament of the season, and they fought hard and played tough. These girls are off to a strong start!

GU10 Black Beach Soccer Tournament Champs

TVSA Hawks GU10 Black - OCSD Beach Tournament Win

The Hawks GU-10 Black took home the Championship at the Oceanside Southern California Beach Soccer tournament on May 3-4, 2008. The pressure was on as this was the first game and tournament for the girls, whose team now consists of a combination of players from last years GU9 Black & Red teams. But the girls proved they were a strong team unit under the instruction of Coach Jacques Ladouceur and went on to lead an impressive undefeated victory. Winning the finals game with a remarkable 4-0 defeat over the Mission Viejo Chaos. Coach Jacques and the girls are excited about this win and are looking with great expectation for the “ 08-09” season to start. Great job girls; let’s keep the victories rolling!
