GU10 Red So Cal Cup Champions

GU10 Red So Cal Cup Champions

Congratulations to the GU10 Red for their finalist appearance in the SoCal Cup. The girls started their fine effort with a close 2-1 win against Freedom. In their second game they tuned up their offense and ran away with a 9-1 victory against the Breakers (Blue). In their third game the defense was put to the test. The Breakers (Black) put everything into their attack but were turned away resulting in a 0-0 draw advancing both the Hawks and the Breakers (Black) into the Championship match.

The Championship match was a very exciting and well played game by both teams. The Breakers gained the advantage with a goal at the end of the first half. Not giving up and showing patience and tenacity, the Hawks put in the equalizer late into the second half sending the game into Penalty Kicks. With both sides enthusiastically supporting their sides, the nerve racking process took place with the Breakers edging out the Hawks 4-3. It was a thrilling game for the team and the results were well deserved.

Thanks to Coach Omar and Coach Ari for doing a superb job of preparing the girls for the tournament. And as always thanks to all the parents, family and friends of the Hawks for their outstanding encouragement and positive support for the team. Keep up the good work and we look forward to your future successes.

Hawks GU11 Black Poway Tournament Champions

Their first time playing on a 11v11 field, the girls came out in full force as if they had been there before. With Coach Jacques Ladouceur guiding the way the girls went on to lead an impressive undefeated victory having only 1 goal scored against them the entire tournament. In the finals game the girls met back up with the Bonita Matrix whom they beat previously 3-0. While new to tournaments the Matrix team came ready to play, but with an impressive save by goalie Mandy Constant, the Hawks soared to the top and took the game with a 2-1. BU12 White plays in Oceanside Beach & Arsenal Tournament

The newly formed TVSA Hawks U12 White team ventured west to the Oceanside Beach tournament to get their very first taste of tournament level play. To their surprise, they found themselves in U14 play against three seasoned and talented teams, including the tournaments reigning champions. Although the team failed to win against the stout competition, they played at a high level of excitement, and never gave an inch. Congratulations to Coach Rogers and his scrappy band of little warriors.
